Many small safes are designed and intended to be secured to a fixed object, such as a floor or wall, to prevent them from being removed from the premises. It is highly recommended that you do so as small safes are lightweight and can easily be removed if they are not anchored properly. Anchoring a safe to a floor, while usually less convenient than wall mounting, may provide greater security than wall mounting. Anchoring a safe to a concrete floor is more secure than anchoring it to a wood floor. If the chosen installation location is a wood floor, ideally at least one anchor bolt should be secured to a support beam.
Small wall safes are a type of small safe designed to be installed between standard 16” on center wall studs. One advantage of this type of small safe is that it can be installed in areas that are convenient to access, such as in a bed room closet. A second advantage is that they do not take up valuable living space because they are installed in unused space between wall studs. A third advantage is that they can be hidden behind a picture or a mirror.
